Inspecting the ballroom before the ceremony. Everything seems in order...the bride is hiding while the parade is being prepared outside.
The parade starting. We walked from the street in front of the hotel to the ballroom, accompanied by some great drum and organ music. Gifts and complex ornaments were carried by guests.
After walking inside and passing the golden gate, it was time to exchange gifts.
Our parents were sitting on chairs behind the table. Pim got a diamond ring and a golden necklace and bracelet, and Lasse got a nice watch and a golden ring :)
There were 3 monks, citing prayers and throwing water on us. This part seemed to take ages...
Some of the ornate presents carried in the parade. Under the banana leaf covers there was food and other gifts.
Now it was time for the water pouring ceremony. We had each a friend standing behind us, in this case Niklas and Nong.
Pim's aunt, Paa Dang initiated the ceremony. We got bands on our heads and three white dots on our foreheads.

The rest of the guests were waiting in a long line for their turn. Our hands got pretty wet from all the water, and looked like raisins after the whole thing.
